You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11
What happens if your life is suddenly upended close to a major holiday? …divorce, death of a loved one, disappointment, loss of a job, a health crisis, end of a relationship, or collapse of a heartfelt dream.
In spite of challenges , we still have choices that empower us…choices that enable us to face pain with hope and strength.. choices that bring us victory! As a believer, my “go to” power source is PRAYER! I’m talking about prayer that goes beyond begging, pleading and crying .(We all do that!) I’m referring to prayer that is built on God’s promises, His power (not ours), His love, His grace, and His mercy.
One simple step is to gather a few relevant scriptures. If you are facing financial pressure, gather scriptures about God’s provision. If you are facing loneliness, gather scriptures about God’s love, presence, protection, and peace. You get the idea. An internet search will help you quickly gather scriptures…. Search: bible verses about (topic).
After reviewing the scriptures, select your top five bible verses … verses that clearly uplift you, speak to your heart, your needs, your emotions.
Whenever you pray, read those scriptures out loud and reflect on their meaning. Scriptures fix the focus on God and His power, rather than our problems, issues, weakness and challenges. After reading the scriptures, remain still, listen and reflect on God and His promises. Trust Almighty God to give you divine wisdom, guidance, strength, peace and power. God’s Word is good medicine for all of life’s difficulties. Persevere in prayer and you will have victory!
