During the holidays, bright lights are usually featured as decorations on Christmas trees, in windows, front yards, store displays and public parks. A few years ago, my neighbor spent several days carefully wrapping the tall tree in his front yard with thousands of tiny red lights. At night, the visual impact was spectacular! Neighbors could easily see that tree from a long distance. The lights lit up the whole area around his home and drew many well-deserved compliments.
Our faith in God enables us to rely on him for light, strength, wisdom and hope. As committed believers we can readily reflect the light of Christ’s love, compassion and mercy wherever we go — in our homes, workplaces and local communities. That’s a great opportunity! Just look around….Is a grief-stricken friend struggling with widowhood? Is your business colleague struggling with the impact of a company reorganization? Is a local charity requesting gifts or food donations?
We have the awesome privilege of sharing God’s light in a world that’s full of darkness. We can always make a difference!
